The Benefits of Radiant Heating for a House

What is radiant heating? Not many homeowners are aware of what makes this type of heating different from the “standard” options found for home heating in Conway, AR. In this area, most homes rely on forced-air heating. If you’ve used a furnace (gas or electric) or a heat pump in the past to provide comfort to your house, you’ve experienced forced-air heating. These systems operate by heating up air and then using blower fans to push the air into the rooms of a house. 

Radiant heating doesn’t use a fan and doesn’t heat the air. What it does instead is raise the temperature of an object in a room, and then heat waves from that object radiate into the space and warm other objects they contact, without heating the air in between. This is the heat you’ll feel coming off asphalt on a sunny day, or from the heating elements in an electric range when it’s turned on.
